In front of the 17,000 Ateneo basketball fans who went to the Araneta Coliseum, the Blue Eagles beat the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws with the score of 65-62. Because of this championship, the Blue Eagles completed the "three-peat victory" when they started to conquer the UAAP last season 71 year 2008-2009. It is a double celebration for the Blue Eagles after winning the back-to-back-to-back titles.
Ryan Buenafe bested the final game with 23 points and 6 rebounds, making him the Most Valuable Player(MVP) of the UAAP 73rd season.
The historical championship was witnessed by popular personalities such as former president Joseph Estrada, former Blue Eagles superstars and now PBA players Olsen Racela and Wesley Gonsalez, TV comedienne Vice Ganda and other VIP's.
In the Game 1 of the series, the Atenean beat the FEU with the score of 72-49. That score of the FEU is the lowest score in the finals since 2003 in the UAAP history.
